TheDailyRock.com Interview With Derek March 18th, 2008 by Romperchic
I’ve been an avid listener of the band EKOTREN from the first moment I heard their EP’s THE TABLES HAVE TURNED and DESTROYING THE AMERICAN DREAM. The band has a metal twinge with lots of melody, crucial singing ability and nothing shabby about the lyrical content either. The guys show passion, dedication and courage in the music world from putting it to CD or bringing to a stage every night. After years of listening to them I got the chance to see them when they came to New England with ILL NINO and this band is really going to do some damage in 2008. I had a chance to jump online and email their Bass player Derek DeSantis a few questions about videos, touring and fan moments.

Rocket's Interview W/ Ekotren's Steve Chin MetalUndergound.com
There really aren't any underground metal bands on the scene today made up mostly of twenty-one year olds that are making any kind of serious impression today. Cape Coral, Florida's EKOTREN is an exception. Scratch that, a major exception. With a recent successful performance on Van's Warped Tour 2006 and an increasing following picking up steam in the local clubs of Florida, Ekotren seems to really be holding their own against the crowds of band competition. They have also recently self-released their debut EP 'The Tables Have Turned', which this rock journalist gave an overwhelming 'thumbs up' in review. It's really turned into quite a year for this bunch. With as crazy as things have been going for them, I am pleased to have gotten some questions in with their talented man on the keys, Steve Chin.Read the full interview..

Cape Coral, Florida's unsigned dynamo, Ekotren, unleashed a firebrand performance on June 25, 2006 at the latest installment of the venerable Vans Warped Tour in Orlando Florida, clearly provideing the harshest of musical critics with all the proof they need to assess that this is a group of young musicians who are now clearly on their way to making a breakthrough in a metal genre that has seen it all before. Well, almost everything. They haven’t seen Ekotren. Read the full interview..
